To raise funds for central Ohio’s only pediatric hospice and palliative care program, the women of Pleasure Guild of Nationwide Children’s Hospital are thrilled to announce Willy Wonka as its 58th production. Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to life in this stage adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which features a memorable score by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley and songs from the classic family-film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Willy Wonka will take place February 27, 28 and March 1 at the Palace Theatre.
Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka follows mysterious candy maker Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding five golden tickets among millions of Wonka bars around the globe. Whoever discovers these tickets will win a free tour of the fantastical Wonka factory whose gate had been shut years prior, along with a lifetime supply of candy. Wonka-mania ensues worldwide as 5 winners are selected, among them the likeable Charlie Bucket.
